I don't have exact dates, but they are from the second half of the 70's. Both restored and ready for eastern boilerplate.

8 base welds and some epoxy included in restoration along with a million passes on the Montana to flatten the bases.

Do you own or get to use one yourself at a shop. Stone grinders work miracles. I chuckle to myself thinking what I used to do to get skis in shape before I started working at a shop.

I never kept my old gear, including my very first set which are the only ones I wish I still owned. From my Head Yahoos to my Pre 1200 II, teal Rossi 4S, raceroom Rossi 9S just to mention a few of my favorites. What I do have are these, a family heirloom from Germany:

Magnificent. It looks like you have the original toe straps to boot (pun intended).

Some more pics of the collection. Thanks to Doug Briggs - he gave me some of these skis a few years ago. Others came from family, friends, ebay, and quite a few I skied on through the years (late 70s and up)

71-73 was when I was in a pair of Trappeurs. People at the time were always telling me the Langes were like wearing concrete boots sans padding.

These were fun skis...until the foam broke down..which didn't take more than a season. M46R's didn't come out until close to 1990..there is a better chance they were drilled for M40R Sensomatics.

Retro Langes: The blue/green boots from the 70s are mint--right out of the box. Unfortunately they are rather small.

Otherwise nice pair of Henkes self-destructing. Shell material almost seems like a wax coating on top of leather.

I have other boots in my collection (not on display) where the shells are crumbling. One of these pairs is from the 90s. Yet I have boots that are 50 years old that still look new.

Marker Automatic Cober Reaktor Bindings (on early Hart skis). The early Marker Simplex toe I'm very familiar with but not this heel. Any of you folks remember this interesting looking contraption?

I believe these showed up in 1972 and were very well received.

The Rossi's were made from 1987-1991, the Dynastars came just after in 1993 and were just starting to show a bit more shape (hints of things to come).

Saw two pairs of 4S at the thrift store this week. I've seen quite a few around here in the past couple years, some were 204s too. Must have been a VERY popular ski indeed.

They sold more of the teal Rossi 4Sk's than any other ski up to that point.
