Shotski -- how to make and 1st trial run.

Materials: One old ski, shot glasses, washers, epoxy, strong magnets.

Tools: Drill, Drill bit, tape measure

Measure 4 equal 19" spaces on the ski, mark them.
Drill recess so the washer sits barely proud of ski surface.
Epoxy washer and magnet into base of each shot glass.
Epoxy washer into the drilled recess in the ski.
Let dry.

Attach glasses to ski (magnetically)
Fill with appropriate beverage.
Get 4 people with heads at approx same height.
Tip ski and take a shot.

We are clearly newbies at this: We don't have our heads at equal elevation.

Nope, this is not working well

Now it should work, loaded with water for 1st trial....

It works!

You know there's a difference between a Shot Ski and a Shotzski?
Shotzski is a brand with boots and bindings.

Magnets and washers? DH just drilled a hole large enough for the shot glass.

The magnets and washers allow the shot glasses to be easily removed for transport and for cleaning.

Who is "DH" ???

If you drill a large hole for the shot glass, then what holds it in while drinking? And won't the shot glass protrude out the bottom and disrupt setting the ski on a table?

DH - dear husband.

Holes weren't drilled through. And your mouth holds the shot. Lot more fun!!

I'd like to make one out of a jumping ski. You could put 8 or 9 shot glasses on it. Also, for fun, put the shortest person in the middle.

Looking back at pics from Big Sky gatherings, this one from Big Sky 2013, I'm especially impressed that @Living Proof and @Gary Stolt are shot skiing and holding a beer at the same time.
Makes the rest of them seem like rookies.

I was thinking the same thing. It almost looks like you're on your tippy toes.

Yes, the glass will come out the bottom of the ski.
If you sit the ski on a table and place the glasses in the center, it will just slide right in as you pick up the ski. If you drill the hole correctly, they should stay put while you're drinking.
See images below.

On the other hand, the ShotzSki that we have is super handy and the ski boot glasses come off easiliy to clean.

Did the piezo-electric dampening on the old K2 Four help smooth out the shot? Really like the magnetic attachment of the glasses for cleaning.

@pchewn looks like your design is making someone money down here in the (not so) sunny Southland:

Well, good for him! That's a really good price too.

In the COVID-19 environment, my 4-person shot ski would have to be at least 18 feet long to maintain 6 feet between participants.

@pchewn great idea. I purchased holders that use rubber grommets to hold the glass. Your DIY is solid.

I still think the ShotzSki that sponsored Pugski when we launched in 2015 is still one of the best designs.
Someone is copying his system and was at the trade show last January.
