At the Weston Pass fire ... I mean, a tornado in Fairplay?? The world has gone insane.
I received the tornado alert when I was at work today. Seriously.
PS We got about 100 drops of rain this afternoon. :golfclap:

We have a few small fires around us and one was put out that was due to idiots with fireworks... Smoke was noticeably heavier today. Hoping we dont have a repeat of last year when it became really hard to breath.

storm clouds are gathering here now.... Fingers crossed for at least 101 drops and no lightning. You can see the sun streaming through the smoke. Not happy.

So true.

Yea, only thing is the sheer amount of dead trees nowadays due to bettle kill. When I first came to Colorado in 1989 the forests were MUCH healthier.

Those trees are just standing there waiting to burn or fall. Would be cool to harvest them for wood or something.

There are a lot fewer waiting to burn in Grand County now.

Good point. I do see a lot cut down; not sure about them getting moved.

They build stacks of trees and burn them during 'controlled burns' in the fall once there is snow on the ground. You've seen the stacks driving around the county, those become the 'controlled burns'.

Crazy, right? The moisture on the road is more than I've seen in weeks.

Been like that all year, same deal with the winter, "the snows will come, the snows will come". They never really did. Only a few spots got it. Dry and Warm (Well Above Average) has been the default weather condition in Colorado since last summer. :(

Holy crap!

Meanwhile, this aerial photo was taken of the Roaring Fork Valley a couple days ago. I'm not sure I want to see what it looks like now.

And because some people seem to live under rocks...

This is at a job site on Summit Gulch Road. I don't know if it was the construction guys or some passer bys. The materials, except for the book, were from the job site.

I reported this to the volunteer Trail Hosts at the Dredge parking lot. One of them had lost their home in the Morgan fire so this was rather poignant for her.

The ride on Galena Ditch and ZL was sweet. We beat the crowds, starting at 7:30. The lot was full on our return at 9:30.
