On my sports wagon, I went from Yakima round bars to Whispbars due to the noise issue.
I'm carrying bicycles on my roof.

On my 4Runner, the factory bars are already aero, so no need to upgrade there.

The Whispbars are a bit more than the $70 deflector, but it looks right on the sports wagon.

I've tried a few things with out luck.

I’ve heard that wrapping a rope in a spiral around the bar can help. I had the same setup with the round bars on a previous car and the overpriced fairing did stop the whistling noise. But so did th Skybox on it’s own.
