Solitude is one of our favorite resorts, so it was sad to see it looking so bare and dry, especially after a good storm. We found some untouched in the Honeycomb Canyon, but it's a tough area to lap. Still, the mountain has grades and terrain we don't experience in AZ, so we still had fun. And as always, the views are hard to beat.

Brighton to the rescue! We had a great last day skiing at our favorite tree resort. The groomers were superb in the morning, then we spent the afternoon lapping the trees and bumps off the Snake Creek Lift. The higher up the mountain we went, the better the coverage. There were even a few powder watches left from two days ago. We always enjoy Brighton, they have the best race track tree rollers anywhere.

The long drive back to Phoenix tomorrow.

I’m a little late posting about the last day of our trip due to getting back to work and catching up on our missed episodes of Vikings. Monday we made the thirteen hour drive back to Phoenix from SLC. We took the scenic route and went through Zion, Lake Powell, Glen River Damn, The Grand Canyon and Echo Cliffs before finally passing the home of Snowbowl in the San Francisco Peaks and heading down the hill to the Valley. I know, more random car window pics.

On a side note, my bad knee finally gave out and swelled up the night after Brighton. I put a compression bandage on, but by the morning the swelling had shifted to my foot, which became too big to fit in my shoe. I made the thirteen hour drive back to Phoenix in my snow boots!

Sounds like you took the "C" in RICE a little too far! Here's a quote from WebMD : "Don't wrap it too tightly, because this can cause more swelling below the affected area." But I guess you already know that... hope everything gets back to normal quickly.

Thanks for the great road trip report. I've enjoyed it!

Just saw this report. Nicely done! I did some ski travel on overlapping dates, but you timed the new snows better than me. The days you were in BCC I started skiing in LCC and Park City for eight of ten days.
