Man...I'll miss PS. Loved to listen to the TdF broadcasts, but the dynamic was essential. Phil L. was always enthusiastic, excitable...but Paul was the one who actually knew the right rider names and correct time, etc. The voice of reason, the straight man to Phil's bonkers commentary.

RIP Paul.

I had the privilege of working with Paul and Phil on a few TDFs around 2001 and 2002 when I worked for OLN. Both great guys. We even went on a group ride with them and Bob Roll one evening when they were all at our studio in CT.

Does anyone know what he died from? Haven't been able to find cause of death in any reports so far. He seemed like he was in good shape and still, I think, rode quite a bit.

Oh my. RIP Paul and thanks for being a big part of why I'm a fan of the sport. :(

Does anyone know what he died from

Paul Sherwen, cycling broadcaster and former professional rider, has died at the age of 62 of heart failure.

I have no idea what happened with Paul's heart, but it's worth throwing these links out while it's on folks minds:
