I read a story a while back about Niki Lauda..a back marker, David Purley, wouldn't let Lauda back into the lead after Lauda had pitted. After the race Lauda berated Purley at length about how he is a rabbit and should let the wolves through..finally Purley, former SAS officer who had seen combat in Aden, said to Niki "if you don't stop wagging your finger at me Niki I'm going to break it off and shove it up your arse.." Niki stopped talking. That is a helluva look at those two textured characters..both now gone. Purley was the one who stopped at Zandvoort (Sand Fort in Dutch..in the dunes of the North Sea) and tried to get Roger Williamson out of his burning overturned car when the marshal's were unequipped to do so. Zandvoort returns to F1 in 2020 thanks to Max I imagine.
