There was one thread based around one original post that would appear almost annually; It was based around the Zen of skiing. It spoke about so many things in skiing that touched the soul. The photos, and the statements were GREAT! Have asked several times here about it.

If anybody has access to it please post it or send it to me. Would really like to print it up and make a coffee table book out of it, would make summer a lot better.

I see, an adaptation of the Tao Te Ching, which is beautiful in its own context. I guess if you add “P” for “pow” it’s somehow more accessible to skiers.

@Jim Kenney That would be the one. Thank you.

I will play with this and see what photos I can hunt down for the verbiage. Promise to put it up when done. There will be a copy on my coffee table.

Thanks everyone for hunting this down.

We have some communication with Ron from time to time. I'll see if he can fill in the images.
He is living a very different life now, so may not have access to the images, but he's living the life of the mantra of the thread.

Yes, I seem to remember a version on Epicski of the poetry in the first link that had additional beautiful photos attached to it. The wayback machine is very hard to search for certain items. I only found that version because it was in the article section which is somewhat organized and I am familiar with because some of my old reports are in there.

Was that the thread by Tyrone Shoelaces?
That was incredible.

Believe so Tricia. Lots of European and high alpine photos. The verbiage was almost haikyuu poetry, It absolutely touched the soul.

Have you considered trying the Wayback Machine?

I think the title was something like Pow Tzu. You're right, it was very zen.

I think I know which one you are referring to.
It was titled "Pow Te Ching" by "Pow Tzu" (I guess it was Ron).
I liked it so much that I transcribed it into a ".Doc", word for word.
Might need to check in some of my HDs and see if I haven't erased it or lost.
@Tricia and @Bad Bob, In case I find it, what shall I do ?

Went out googling and found this: https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=91953 They lost the photos too.

If you have the photos and it would not be TOO MUCH effort would nominate you for sainthood.

That whole series should be looked at by a skier every September as a reminder of why we really do this as conditioning starts getting a bit more real. Or in May when buying next years pass.

Those days when Irul and The Rusty would argue about Sox vs Yankees. We need that conflict from time to time to keep us laughing.

A little late but I liked a few things especially about Epic. I met some guys that I still ski with and that has been valuable since they tend to be more informed than me. Second is the ski academy at Stowe. I skied with Michael Rogan - changed my skiing and it has made all the difference. And last, the padded room. Will we be getting one of those over here?

It seems friendlier here. When things got technical I got lost in the fog.

At the time there was a lot of anxiety and uncertainty. Until a pair of Jedi brought balance to the skiing world universe.

I still maintain that VR killed off EpicSki to clean up the search engines of all the valid negative press.
That didn't help but not the driving force.

Yes, Tyrone is a PA boy, IIRC coal country and skied out of Jack Frost. He doesn't ski that much more and is a very serious mountain bike racer and has moved to Scandinavia..I forget which country exactly.

Denmark, but he's back in Calfornia now.

I've been wondering for a while now, where's Nolo? Is she well?
