Will be doing 4 days of skiing in Colorado the last week of February.

Looking for good challenging terrain. Usually ski blacks, double blacks, bowls, chutes, etc.

Like to explore and challenge ourselves.

Favorite mountain is Alta to give an idea of the type of terrain we like best.

Will definitely be doing at least day at A-Basin.

Other options include: Keystone, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, Winter Park

Looking for advice on which 2 or 3 of those to add to the itinerary.

Any advice/tips for any of the locations would be awesome as well!

Are you skiing on an Ikon or Epic Pass? That would change the recommendation since you have 3 Epic resorts and 2 Ikon resorts listed. Also, do you have lodging arranged or will that be based on which areas you pick?

Breck is not to be missed. You get the high alpine bowls and chutes and you get the classic New England multiple fall line steep trails and glades off the E-chair. And if you want a break from that, you have the rest of the mountain

Agree with others about A-Basin and Breck.
A-Basin has Pali chair, Beavers trees, East Wall hike.
Breck has E chair, 6 chair, and hikes to Lake chutes and Sixth Senses.
Maybe split days between A-Basin and Breck?

Breck is big. A-Basin not as big. I would consider 2 Breck days 1 A Basin and 1 Copper.

Staying in Frisco?

I'm going with my father and he booked the accommodations. I think he may have bought both passes.

Sounds like A-Basin and Breck is the way to go.

Any tips on can't miss places to make some turns?

Depending on how much snow falls between now and then, you could get your fill at Crested Butte, which is open wall to wall.

You have the chutes (Banana, Peel, etc.) off the peak, Headwall, and all the terrain in the Extremes. The issue with CB, and I would argue A-Basin in Feb suffers this to at least as great of an extent, is that it is exceptional with fresh snow and bony within a couple of days. A-Basin flowers like a bloom in the desert right at April 1st when East Wall loads, although they do have the Steep Chutes open now. And a tour of the CB backside is best done with a guide (or well pre-studied to get deeper into it given the potential to get into a difficult spot).

Some recent CB pics…

Terrain off the peak (skiing off the top is an inbounds affair).

Off North Face t-bar (getting into The Extremes).

Will it all be steep, deep, weird banana bumps or insane powder steeps?
