Spent the weekend out at Glacier Peak as my boyfriend made attempt #3 at his last Washington volcano. No summits since the 15 mile approach and sleepless night in a wind-pummeled tent somehow didn’t wear the dog out enough for her to calm down once it was time to rope up. I don’t mind having to go back for another visit to my favorite peak in the Cascades.

I took my first hike in Herman Gulch and who should I run into? @SkiNurse , of course. My photos don't compare to the one I posted earlier that my friend took, but gee, Colorado is gorgeous.

Herman Gulch is one of my favorite, go-to hikes. The wildflowers are spectacular this year.

Per report from other friends, two weeks ago the trail was still covered by a fair amount of snowfields and the lakes were frozen and even just last week, the wildflowers still had not blossomed. This was a perfect week.
