Windy! Gondy operational today it looks like. It will be interesting to see how the coverage is off G2 to Cornice, if it doesn't go on wind hold.

Cars were loaded and patrol went up, maybe open just for scenic rides. #1 may be on hold now.

The lights behind the wood stove are the screens with lift ticket prices.

It must be summer, I've seen grasshoppers and I took a picture of a toad.

My photo of the day shows the advantage of a full frame, which allows you to crop like hell-100% or more- and still end up with a quality photo. The other advantages are obvious. The bad news? A FF: 1) has more MP than anyone needs, 2) sucks up memory, 3) has files that are too large to upload here without reducing in size, and 4) is too damn heavy for long hikes or to take on the mountain while skiing. I bought mine used and will keep it for stage photography, some landscapes (definitely astrophotography), and outdoor headshots when I want to blur out the background.

Abandoned or being replaced?

I love colour and sunsets in particular.

Abandoned. They still have the road to the top, and now it’s a park and recreation area, with the old lodge serving as a wildlife educational building. It was one of those hills that parking is at the top, and you ride the lift to get back to your car. A bunch of trails now serve as hiking/equestrian/biking trails around the hill. Closed as a ski area before my time.

It’s Mt. Agamenticus, for those wondering.

Right from the balcony of a friend's apartment in Vail the other day:
