I've seen a few posts about Area 51 lately, but I have to say, this animal shelter's twist on it gave me a little chuckle.
They've started using the campaign of
Raid the shelter instead of Are 51 and take home a pet
They have even made tin foil hats for some of the pets in the marketing.

As of Saturday, 149 dogs, 54 cats, two pigs and a hamster are available.

Surely there is no need for adoption of pigs when BBQ exists

    That's what Phil said!

But seriously, our neighbor had a pot belly pig as a pet. She ended up passing him off to someone else because it was so difficult to have around the house. I'm not sure what the specific difficulties were but she said it was not the pet she expected.

I mean, if you go to the shelter to adopt a dog and you come back with a pig.....

I'm disappointed there was no picture of the hamster with a tinfoil hat. :(

I'm afraid I'd be taking this face home with me.

Shelter dogs really are special. You never know for sure what you are getting, nor do they as you go out the door together. It is a second chance for them and a new start for us.

Mankind's oldest ally deserves this chance.

You know, when we're ready for another pup, we'll be adopting from the shelter.
Meanwhile, we're watching these two year old labs that own @Andy Mink
