tram was a 4 box wait at 1pm. Yesterday was shorter, but was later ie 3pm.

I didn't take the Tram today either and the singles line for the gondola was short and very short the 4 times I rode it.

Big time temp inversion in the am. I was a bit over dressed. My truck thermometer went from -23*C in Jackson at 9am to -3*C at 3pm. I'm from Canada and seeing temp swings like that at home in a single day happen as often as never.

I just posted this in the accommodations thead, sorry for being redundant (again).

OK this is Sooo last minute......

I have a 2 BR condo at The Aspens for Sunday 2/23 through Saturday 2/29 (checking out Sat am), and the person who was going to share it with me had an injury and will miss the Gathering. So anyone who is interested in a private room, maybe upgrade from a motel, send me a PM.

It would be about $132 a night, by the day or for the 6 days. There is also a sofa bed so I could actually take 2 more individuals or couples, in which case the split would be about $88 a night.

The condo is a short walk to the Aspens bus stop and is the last stop before Teton Village. The unit comes with access to the Teton Sports Club featuring a large fully equipped gym, hot tub (indoor & outdoor). There is wifi, TV, cable & phone included.

I will be driving my Subie Forester for trips into town.

For your weather perusal. Looks like maybe a few inches total Sunday and Monday.

I’m at the airport but missed my direct flight because the lot I booked and prepaid for parking overbooked and screwed me. By the time I found alternate parking and made it to the terminal it was too late to check a bag. :nono::nono::nono::nono: Now I have to stop in Atlanta and won’t get there until this evening.

The SS Pugski is loading up today and pulling into Jackson tomorrow. Many of you will get some warm up laps long before we arrive.

Take pics and start the stoke.

Landed in Jackson. This really is the nicest airport ever: amazing views, free mimosas, 3 species of owls, AND a bald eagle! It’s kind over the top with the guys dressed as cowboys...

I’m far from an expert on terrain here BUT, been here.a couple of days - Headwall hike was worth it yesterday (Beartooth) not so much today. Think heavy, sun crusted snow on Coombs. Its a fairly easy hike (Im 50+ and live at 600 feet), that said with the inversion, you’ll get sweaty fast. Pack not needed IMHO, if you can carry your skis on shoulder.

off piste - pick your aspects - Riverton Bowl was nice. Wallys was nice too. You actually want to find stuff that HAS been skied IMHO. Groomers nice early up high.

tram was a 4 box wait at 1pm. Yesterday was shorter, but was later ie 3pm.

just my tourist opinion. It’s been cold, but very bright sunshine. I’ve got my SR95s - seem to be fine.

JHMR never disappoints tho.
We dont know this mountain and never got all the way up so we may have chosen the wrong aspects. It looks like some really warm days during the gathering where the snow may soften to spring conditions. My DH was on his 105 Pinnacles and was happy enough on them. YMMV

Whatever the snow conditions the mountain and the area itself is so beautiful that it is worth the price of admission. That said they are expecting a foot at our home mountain tomorrow..don't it always seem to go...
