So, this is something I saw a few years ago at a retreat with Pema Chodron, a Buddhist nun. Yes, me, Monique - this isn't a copy/paste.

A woman told Pema about the anger and hatred she saw on Facebook. The woman wanted to know how she could counteract that sort of vitriol and ignorance. Pema paused, then said .... "Well, not on Facebook."

As we head into 2019, remember: You're not going to change anyone's mind or attitude by getting into an argument on social media. Save your energy for more useful acts, like being kind to others, hugging your dog, or studying underwater basket weaving.

The BEST resolutions. Happy New Year, Pugski!

Instead of resenting people for what they haven't done, love them for what they're doing right now.

My dogs are so HAPPY when I take them on walks, on hikes, etc. They don't seem to hold on to all the times I failed them (which I don't think they perceive as failing). Imagine living that way ...

An interesting daily words of wisdom was in my inbox today.

There are no bad people, only people with bad ideas.
Have compassion towards such people, and help them sober up from the influence of bad ideas.

I like the compassion part. :)

If that's true( and it probably is) I'm in big trouble.
I have heard that alcohol is a truth scrum, but it is not always so. It may just cause verbal diarrhea.

This is a good reminder to give ourselves a break:

Sometimes it's ok if the only thing you did today was breathe.

A day well lived does not have to include anything more than celebrating this divine world through simple breathing.

Sometimes doing nothing is doing something. I'm really good at it!

I saw another video called "Don't let the old man in" and the question it asks is:
"How old would you be if you didn't know the date you were born" so is age all in your mind? Some of it is but we all know that reaction time is effected by age. But what I think is important is a positive mental attitude.

Found this while looking through some stuff. It was the class aim at my nephew's graduation (he's in his 30's now)
To be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become.

*I can't imagine 17 and 18 year olds with the vision of that.
