So there you go...different tastes. I remember The Aviator as the first movie where I began to see Leonardo as an actor rather than a pretty boy.
BTW: it was nominated for 11 Academy Awards and won 5, and Leo also won a Golden Globe for best actor in that movie.

Have to agree - Aviator's pretty much the only movie of his I like and respect.

I'll take a big stretch and go with Irrfan Khan (tragically prematurely deceased, within the last few days). In an ocean of unremarkable Indian actors, he really stood out no matter how small a role.
I'm not an expert on Bollywood movies by any stretch, but I did watch at least one or 2 a week for over 2 years while a Peace Corps volunteer in India; Irrfan was special.

Yeah, well, I also detest Disney World, so you can't go by me.
Signed, Eeyore

Guess you never attempted to sit though The Aviator. Like flying to Vladivostok in a regional turbo-prop.
You are correct, I have never seen The Aviator but now I guess I need to.:duck::popcorn::P

I haven't seen all of hers, but I have yet to see anything with Carey Mulligan in it that doesn't blow me away with her acting ...

I'll kick Daniel Day Lewis off the curb; Gangs of New York was crap and his overacting was a big reason why.
That apart, he's generally pretty awesome.

^^^ I'd respectfully disagree .... but that's OK.

HOWEVER, you have to admire his dedication to authenticity when he taps his own eye (covered in a contact) with a knife tip!

Lauren Bacall -- anything she was in was exceptional simply by her presence.

Yeah ...... no.

Although he. is in 2 of our current 3 movie rotation for when we're lazy and don't want to invest in something that might be a dud (Into the Night, Buckaroo Banzai, and Galaxy Quest).
