Thinking about Phil's question has me wondering what non-skiers think about skiers. Some of the things mentioned are probably things only other skiers are aware of. About the only thing I'd expect some non-skiers would expect is that many of us are athletic, enjoy thrilling motion sensations, and are fun loving with hedonistic interests.
I doubt that they do, any more than non-scuba divers think about scuba divers, or non-squash players about squash players.
