Moved to the French Pyrenees this August with my wife and two kids.

They are in school now, hoping to learn French and get the benefits of a French and US education.

Anyway, had a great season start, backcountry only so far.
The resort, bareges/la mongie opens in two weeks.
Already 1m30 up high, and skiable from way under the bottom of the resort.

A few pictures.

Great story! Hope you enjoy your time in France. We just started our 5th year in Paris. We always go back to the states for the Summer, but stay in Europe the rest of the year. My two little ones learned French quickly in school here.

Yeah, this is our second time. We were here for two years in 2016-17.

So the kids already had friends when we came back this year.

We ended up buying a house in town so they can walk to school.

@Rod9301 What town are you in? How close/far is Bareges/la Mongie from town?

Are your kids going to a French school or an international school? Karen Le Billon, a Canadian married to a Frenchman, wrote French Kids Eat Everything about her family's year in her husbands home village. Their year in France was palate opening for her children who had been finicky eaters.

Aborted mission today. Wanted to ski a couloir in powder, but the approach was really difficult because of many slides across the slope.

This is way it looked like. Survivable?

And another peak that i might ski tomorrow.
