Fall. Came right up on a juvenile moose. A few loud whistles and it scurried off-right down the trail in the direction we were going. A few more whistles and it finally ran off into the brush.

Some fun today. I clipped my front rotor on a chute drop and think I bent it. I’ve been destroying driveshafts on my Land Cruiser so seems to be a thing right now. No damage here:

A little double air here (with the best clips between the two of us):

Went for an adventure today, linked together a bunch of trails and descended my way into town from a trailhead near my house. This set of trails is pretty interesting as it predates most of the homes and has it's own easement through a lot of private property. It's a great mix of singletrack for a majority of the ride with a lot of roots to play on. There are a couple of times where you are quite literally riding within touching distance of someone's house but on an established and marked trail. I still haven't found a way to actually get to the trailhead from my house via a trail yet, I have to ride about a 5 mile roundabout way via the road system to get there. Had my wife drop me off at the top this time.

It's been unseasonably warm in the 40's and 50's this week, makes for perfect riding temps though!

What's that? Where can I buy one? I'll be needing one of these 2 years from now and better be ready :)

Edit: Just saw the Thule Yepp Mini, will be buying one of those soon.

This thing works pretty well on a cruiser & perhaps a little more secure...

Nearly 4,500' of vert in less than 3 hours -- that's some climbing, for sure!

I did the opposite yesterday. Rode a "last ride for awhile" on a trail system I adore. It always leaves a mark. So, for a change, I cherry picked the fun and not-so-tough portions, and put together a fun, slightly disjointed ride. I've never hit a 10 mph average up there, but now I have, and it was a blast!

Sometimes it's nice to do a ride with ZERO low-speed, high-torque grinding.......

Fall this year has been just spectacular here.
it’s as if there has been a resurgence. The low elevations we’re going off a few weeks ago and now this week the mid elevations have livened up with the yellow Aspen Grove’s.

A few from today. Of course an iPhone cannot do justice...

We rode Snowbasin yesterday and today. Hopefully it was the last days of dusty riding
I hope you’re right. My bike starts getting creaky after about an hour lately. I keep looking for a crack in my frame or a broken spoke but then I wash & lube & it’s fine again. Getting windy & cloudy, may have been the last day for leaves!

North Fork today...

The storm wrecked the leaves but there are still a few. Nothing like last year. Had to hike this one.

I was working this morning and happened to go upstairs ( when working, I'm in my basement ), it was about 9:30 and I look outside. Much to my surprise there was a marked lack of smoke, first time it's been this clear all summer. I go back down stairs, look at my computer, look at my bike, looked back at my computer, well, bike won, I set my presence as do not disturb and out the door I go.

I was quite surprised at how good I felt doing my usual climb. Last time I rode was September 2nd. I guess my lungs got so used to smoke that today felt like being at sea level.

Here's some pics, nice lack of smoke

I have developed a much deeper respect and regard for clear, clean breathing air after the past couple of months.
The leaves are definitely passed their peak but what a great day today. Temps in the 60s, no dust & the lungs felt good…
