Mint Juleps were brought up in the Today's Cocktail thread, which is where I originally posted this recipe from Total Wine, but I started thinking....Hmmmm how do you make a Mint Julep?
I tend to make a mint syrup and add bourbon with a mint garnish.
This recipe calls for one sugar cube for one serving.

Champagne Mint Julep
Serves: 1 Preparation Time: 10 minutes Difficulty Level: Easy
Ingredients
3 oz. Champagne
1/2 oz. Whiskey
1 sugar cube
6-7 mint leaves
Mint bouquet, lemon peel and/or strawberry for garnish
Instructions

Champagne Mint Julep
Serves: 1 Preparation Time: 10 minutes Difficulty Level: Easy
Ingredients
3 oz. Champagne
1/2 oz. Whiskey
1 sugar cube
6-7 mint leaves
Mint bouquet, lemon peel and/or strawberry for garnish
Instructions
- In a julep cup or rocks glass, add mint leaves, sugar cube and a splash of water.
- Gently press mint leaves with a muddler to release oils.
- Add whiskey, Champagne and crushed ice, and stir gently.
- Garnish with a mint bouquet, lemon peel or strawberry — or one of each!
