So the conversation goes like this.

Kid: I'm thinking about selling my jeep and getting one with less rust.
Me: Sound good
Kid: Or maybe I get a lift.
Me: Well, your money do what is best. (I'm thinking sell)
Kid: Just pushed buy, dropping of jeep this weekend.
Me: Well that was fast..........:)

3" lift with more to do. Actually didn't take to long. 2 weekends and one night. With no time line it went much faster then when you have a deadline. Murphy didn't really raise his hand this time.

It's in the garage so might as well do more. No weld new quarter armor. Other side will too.

New hitch will go on to replace the one that had more holes than metal. Plus new fabricated roof rack mounting supports.

1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ with a rebuilt engine it 2 years ago. Now I want to get one for my 3rd vehicle. :)

I remember lifting my XJs (i've had.. too many of them).. Make sure the steering damper is decent.. Having experienced death wobble of massive proportions..it's important.. also dropping changes the pinion angle.. the rear should be ok, usually there is a shim on the spring pack to bring it within spec.. but the front coils, you need to adjust the arms forward to get the caster back into the steering, and the pinion angle correct... a good alignment is well worth the investment.

I've graduated from Xj's into FSJ's now... Have a wagoneer i'm restoring.. Something about a v8 underfoot that just puts a smile on your face..

@WheatKing, alignment is the plan. Initial road test was a success so far.
