I will be in Sun Valley for the next several days. I would love to ski with you when I get back.
Sweet. That would be great as I’ll probably be solo. I’ll let you know when I figure out my plan!

You should try to get a room at the Hostel X in Teton Village.
Thanks. That was my first thought. Do you know if the in room WiFi is good? I know there is community tv but I don’t want to miss any of the Olympic ski races.
My other option is in town at the super 8. $40 dollars less per night but I like the idea of being on the hill.

What gadgets do you own and what cell provider do you have? FWIW, I had very good cell reception at JH via T-Mobile.

For mission-critical requirements such as ski races, hockey games, pugski streaming and porn, I rely on personal mobile hot-spots that my iPad can pick up. Unlimited data plan on T-Mobile helps.

iPhone, iPad and laptop. I may not even bring the laptop. AT&T is my provider with a limited data plan but don’t mind paying extra if I need to. Reliable WiFi would be better.
I can get a room in the Hostel beginning Sunday night. I am thinking of staying in Driggs Saturday & skiing Targhee Sunday.

@SKI-3PO and I stayed at the Super 8 in Driggs last weekend. Great price, clean rooms, meh breakfast but it filled you up, spotty wi-fi. Wi-Fi was expected for the price. You may want to ask at the desk which rooms have the best wi-fi reception.

I think I'm back in Jackson Sunday night and could ski Monday. I usually train every Monday, but will blow it off to ski with you. I am scheduled to work on Tuesday. Oddly enough my schedule currently shows that I am working every day for the rest of the season starting this Tuesday. I've been skiing all day every day for about the last 30 days, but I'm not sure I'm strong enough to pull that off.

That would be great! You can just train me instead. If all goes to plan that would be my first day at Jackson. I have only skied there a couple of days and that was almost 20 years ago. I will PM you once My plans are confirmed.
Thanks

Had a fine day following @TPJ down a multitude of steep, serpentine, tree shrouded mogul lines all over JHMR. My guide led my on runs I’d have never found on my own & knows not only every tree by name but also every boulder, stick& clump of ice. If you get a chance to ski with him, don’t hesitate.

We’re gonna go to the third tree on the left & the make a sharp right footer into the abyss...

Yesterday (Tuesday)was Rondevous Blue.

I was mostly solo lapping the North side of Sublette to Thunder & repeat. Snow seemed softer than Monday & even some Spring type snow on the lower sunny slopes.

Today I got to tag along with @Bob Peters & Dave for a tour of the Rock Springs area. Even if the snow wasn’t great the company & views were.
Here they are with a couple of the prominent chutes in the background.

& amid some snow showers the view to the Hole that is Jackson.

I thought I saw you on Tuesday skiing with Kerch in the morning. It was really fun skiing with you on Monday and I'm glad your trip went well!

Thanks again. Tried to repeat a few of our lines from Monday but not as fun without a rabbit to chase. With such great visibility I stuck more to the open bowls & gullies. Even got some freshies when they flipped the signs out past the bottom of Corbet’s.

How is Jackson's season thus far? A few of my friends didn't bother going up there from SLC a week or so ago, claimed Jackson was also in a snow drought.
Looking at the totals, reported 321" at summit, 234" mid mountain , and GT reported 298 inches. . Seems like a normal year there, right?
Alta reported a paltry 183" but i'm not sure where at Alta that measurement is from.

I'm hoping to go out to Jackson/GT first week of march.

Certainly better coverage than Snowbasin. I skied my good skis with reckless abandon on the top 2/3rds of the mountain at Jackson. The bottom third was a little boney off piste at Jackson, Targhee no problem. They both got another good dose of snow right after I left.

The skiing is really great right now. We have had a few decent powder shots and a lot of wind. A few days ago when they reported 13" I skied the early Tram and had powder to my mid thigh all the way down Rendezvous Bowl! Your friends made the wrong decision because the skiing has been good for quite while and looks to continue for a bit.
