Hah I mean I can really only make one drink right now (and occasionally I make myself a Lynchburg lemonade if I have extra lemons from dinner) but sure! I'd love to have a cocktail testing night with some friends so we could learn new ones!

I had a really interesting one at Community the other night. Bourbon, agave, lemon, balsamic drizzle, muddled cherry tomatoes, basil. Uber should get me home safely.

I've decided I'm going to up my cocktail game, so I'm reading this thread. Any suggestions on where to start with learning a few basic classics? I particularly like whiskey, so have been trying to perfect my Manhattan recently. I used to have a more stocked bar but when we moved out to CO I almost solely drank beer, so am rebuilding a basic bar pretty much from scratch. Any tips on drinks I should start with learning to make, or how you prefer to make your Manhattan?
Do you like straight rye or a blended rye? It does make a difference.

That sounds delicious, but difficult.

I mean, i don't really drink a ton of it so not sure I would know the difference. I have a bottle of bulleit.

Okay, I drink lots of things. Too many, for sure. I keep posting Negroni variants because I'm actively futzing around with that and thus might have something to contribute. Or not. But I do like this (appended).

Meanwhile I had my favorite Negroni to date in Chattanooga. I know it had Meletti 1870, Campari, and Punt e Mes. Deep, dark, and mysterious. Beyond that, clueless. WTF? Guess I have to go back.

But this is tonight's. Santé.

10 ml Campari
10 ml Cointreau
15 ml Cocchi Vermouth di Torino
20 ml Montanaro 6 pm
20 ml water
35 ml gin
orange twist
big rocks

What a coincidence you asked. Just took delivery of the wife’s Thanksgiving table - 11;20pm local time. Our first time hosting the holiday. Otherwise, the Pugski Southern pub is full of rye and waiting patiently for your visit.. And in the meantime, the Dude abides.

Tonight I thought it would be a good idea to have a taste of Bourbon to celebrate the 85 anniversary of the Repeal of Prohibition. It was on December 5, 1933 that the 21st Amendment was passed to repeal the 19th Amendment the prohibition of alcohol. :D

From time to time I have a taste of Ouzo and this is the first time I tried that brand. WP_20190209_00_56_37_Pro.jpg
A very good selection for the night.

You may have heard, from food and drink purists like me, that less is more. Simpler is better. Yadda yadda. Well, not always. Thus I bring you the "Everything But The Kitchen Sink" Negroni. This is seriously dangerous material, so please, in the name of all that is holy, don't try this at home. Crap. I mean ONLY try this at home.

1 part Campari
1 part Cocchi Vermouth di Torino (not Toronto, you moronic assemblage of silicon chips)
1 part Meletti 1870
1 part Punt e Mes
1 part water
3 parts dry gin
dash orange bitters
blood orange slice
