Given my poor experience with using my phone as a boarding pass,

This part is fascinating to me. I've used my phone as my boarding pass 100's of times at this point and never had a single issue. What has been the problem?

Screenshots look like the Squaw/Alpine app from the last two years, which tracked you around the mountain after you tell the app to start your ski day. It is a phone battery killer, and I only used the app when I knew that I was looking for people on the mountain and until I got the 100,000' vert to be entered into a raffle for a trip with CMH. At the time, the app wasn't connected to my pass, so I guess that's the difference now...

Dreamt about transporters on many Friday night drives to VT after a long week. Long ago and far away.

Often goes something like this:

Pull out phone in line for TSA, check boarding pass is ready
Get to officer
Phone has gone to sleep mode. Wake up phone, enter code
Drop other items because I need two hands hands to do this
Pick up dropped items
One person behind me starts to fidget
Phone is on other screen, swipe to find Delta app
Two people behind me start squirming
Show phone to officer
Scanner can’t read QR code from screen
People behind me start trying to get into the other line
Get scanned, get phone back, try and repeat process for my kids.​

as opposed to paper boarding pass: hold in one hand in line, hand to officer, done.

Ah... more than one boarding pass on the phone, and dealing with kids, I would probably prefer paper. Actually, more than one pass on the phone without kids, I'd probably prefer paper.

I had trouble finding it in the Play Store too. I opened the email on my phone and clicked the links. One of them took me right to the app.
