That's rather the point of this thread - a pair of skis that won't be slow skating on the flat in the uncut pow.
Why? Each skate stride is a ski turn.
Downhill. Yes, they're just small directional skates to make the 90 deg turn. Easy to just ski it.
When will you do this?

It would be easier just to skate 3.5 miles uphill on a lightweight skate ski with skate boot....even in powder......can’t imagine doing that in an alpine boot. ;)

I remember skating in like 10” of ingroomed at Van Hoevenberg in Lake Placid....fun! But...people were like, “why did you just ski at Whiteface?” :rolleyes:

Huh...now THAT is an interesting proposition! I just handed in my letter of resignation at my teaching job so my schedule is a bit more open to train....
