@Philpug and I went to high school with Laura Van Gilder. She was a fierce field hockey player at that time, and a really nice person. I'm sure she still is. I don't know how she stayed so fit considering her family operated a great restaurant with so-good comfort food!

The co-owner of our local bike shop is a 1992 TTT World Champion (Benidorm, Spain)
The shop is thus called Benidorm Bikes. Jan is very nice and as true champions do, is always
willing to cycle with mere mortals with a smile. The last time I bumped into her on a ride she rode
along my loop with me and we had an interesting moment when we crossed paths with a good sized black bear.
She also has numerous years on the US National Cycling team for road, mountain bike and cyclocross, and several National Championship titles
