How to mend mesh pocket bottoms?

The recent thread on REI prompted me to ask this here.

I have an old REI jacket with hand pockets made of some kind of mesh. The pocket bottoms are fused to the jacket fabric so there is no stitching. The bottom edges have separated from the fabric and now I have holes in the pockets. What’s the best way to fix that? I tried fabric glue but it came undone after a couple of washes. The jacket is otherwise in good shape. Any suggestions?

You can try reinforcing the break with a piece of fabric. Tack it in place with super glue gel and finish with Aquaseal.
