Why google it. I'll be happy to embed it here.

After watching that clip, I'm at a loss about what to write.....which is a rare moment......funny, crazy, daring, brave...I laughed, grimaced, held my breath, cheered and cried...that emotional roller coaster occurred as people were ridding the lift. Some fantastic skiing here and great lines.....the attire made it radical.

I never use emojis but am going to for this single post. :golfclap:

I've pretty much always changed in the lodge, even at places where they technically don't allow it. I will be quick and discreet because I realize some people may be uncomfortable seeing my underwear. If you're not showing more than you would at the beach I don't see why it should be a problem.

Depends on the beach...

gathering in the buff ??
Personally don't recommend it.
Skiing the lift line at Whistler while nude was once very common.
You may find out snow can be quite abrasive. I still refer to it as the hamburger patty look.
hopefully you will miss that look but the slush also drips from your shins into your boots and you can't avoid that.

otherwise I've never seen a problem stripping for gear on/off anywhere although sometimes the parking lot can be chilly and we may not be at our best.

Edit: don't watch if you're sensitive to naked skiing.

I have always wondered what people were talking about when they used the term "ski porn". I guess now I know.

Note, skiers in the video were extra safe with their beacons firmly attached.

Which reminds me, @Jack skis where you in Crested Butte back in the days of naked skiing closing weekend?

I made an annual trip for the free skiing with lodging, but the naked skiing was always interesting. Like most, I was just an observer, but I do have some images burned into my brain, both good and bad.

As far as skiing goes, I was never fan of late spring/early autum skiing in shorts (naked would fit into this :D ) simply as it "hurts" when snow hits my shins. Just too cold for my taste... and my legs :) But after skiing, I always change my clothes at car, and that means all my clothes, as I'm always sweating even if -20c. Honestly I don't really care where ,my car is parked. It's not like I'm jumping naked around, and I try to reduce time without clothes on to minimum, if nothing else, it's cold!!, but I really don't care where it is. If someone never saw naked person till that time, I guess it's time to finally see that, even though I doubt anyone would hope for that sight anyway :D And at least over here in Europe, I never had problems because of this. Half of people are doing same anyway :)

I think if you're changing down to your underwear in the lodge it is courteous to be quick and discreet rather than out in the open. Don't have a big problem with it, I just wouldn't do it myself.

Fart bag over a turtleneck and jeans (or lounge pants) is something I still do from time to time when I'd like a quick and easy change for après ski or a long drive home. Jeans are better for post skiing but have to be rolled up above the boots farther, Lounge pants stretch and slide up easier but are kinda tacky to wear in public.

On the days when I'm in Stowe and I'm driving back home to Massachusetts (three plus hours)... I keep a (relatively) clean set of civilian clothes (t-shirt, sweat pants) in the car and just get changed in the lodge. It's usually far too cold outside to even think about changing by the car.

I just get changed in the basement area by the ski rental area. It's usually pretty quiet there. I've seen others doing the same thing. Only once in all the years that I've been skiing has somebody complained that I shouldn't be getting changed in the lodge, etc.

It’s spurprising how quickly the “thrill” of being naked wears off once you take your clothes off. As long as everyone else is nude as well, all your insecurities and fears dissipate, as very few people really look as good as we think they do once naked. In fact being nude is the great equalizer for body image.

The downside, it doesn’t take long to become desensitized to the fun of being naked, if you do it too often. The reality is that most nudists don’t strip down fit the thrill of being naked.

I thought Europeans were more enlightened when it came to body image and body shaming.

I don't think it's a question of "englightenment" -- from the survey story, it's that no one wants their photos bouncing around, as it were, on the internet. I have definitely noticed a divide between older and younger generations here. People my age (50) and up are much less self conscious about things like public nudity, personal grooming etc. But it does show that cultural habits can change. I think Europeans were as prudish as anyone before the 60s, especially given how religious countries like France/Spain/Italy/Ireland were.

In my informal survey of European beaches, it's the Germans who are most likely to let it all hang out, followed by Scandinavians, Russians and then the French and Italians. Oddly I saw zero topless/nudity in Spain, but then I probably wasn't looking in the right places. I better go back tout de suite!

Exactly! I spent a lot of time in Ibiza, Formentera (Balearic Islands)....... and Sitges (south of Barcelona) ...... there were times I felt like the weirdo w/ clothes on! LOL

I was there for naked skiing, but in the best interests of everyone else I remained fully clothed. For many years it was a really fun time/day, but it finally got to the point where a few people (deviants?) took it too far. To repeat myself it was really fun, though the cold temps shrunk some "things" so much that there wasn't much to see (that was my wife's opinion, I didn't care about that).

When leggings became a thing, I recall seeing a girl wearing leggings and a long shirt, which was probably a tunic that looked like a long shirt. I was shocked and thought she forgot to finish dressing. Today I often wear leggings and a hoodie or some such.
Its interesting how we adapt.
Yeah, I was really upset when women stopped wearing super low waist bellbottom jeans until I saw what they were being replaced with - long live the leggings! :)

Oh my god, I'm still scarred by the time I was in Elementary school and those see through footless tights with lace bottoms were in (leggings, back in the day) and I wanted to be a cool kid and wear them so I wore them with my long tied off t-shirt with the rhinestone lady on it and the rhinestoned buckle tie thing. And then the cool girls made fun of me endlessly, because apparently you were supposed to wear those leggings under shorts or skirts.
...and I'd bet they were the same "cool girls" who wore the Lululemon tights which became perfectly transparent on a sunny day:) ;)
