Now imagine a below-the-knees one of those^, with a wind collar and a cape back, in purple with a bit of magenta tone, and Dynastar logos. Hippest coaches' coat I've ever seen.

Did someone say duster?

The gloves arrived today. They are GLORIOUS to see in person and fit perfectly. If I wear purple pants, what color jacket should I wear with them??

Skiing on these...

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with collections. This is what is sitting next me to me in the office. Some of these are vintage and can't get rid of, prototypes current products and trade-ins. This is replicated 10X at my house.

LOL, this makes me feel almost normal! :roflmao:

I am about to sell off a bunch of shells and down jackets I don't use so please take a look at the gear for sale section shortly for the annual Finn closet-clean-out sale. I am actually down to 2 shells and one softshells for skiing! Pants. well, I have 5 pairs now but still no "black" :)

What will the price be on the Colorado free ride jacket?

As for me, I'm so overstocked when I got a teaser e-mail from Arcteryx yesterday on new product I kind of groaned. At least you sell your old ones. I just move them to another closet.

No! its not for sale. I am buying another one! But am I sure you can use the coupon code provided by @TheBestSkier and buy a new one!

CFS (Colorado Freeride Systems) are still my favorite and I enjoy supporting a local, small business and USA jobs. Anyone looking at a high quality, technical jacket that performs should be putting these at the top of the list considering it supports jobs AND IMHO, out performs Arc' Pati and even Flylow (another fantastic brand). The fit and functionality is just a cut above. :thumb:

I have two kits that I wear most often for skiing
OR proshell jacket and bibs about 8 yrs old. These are go to for stormy days.

Pata kit. Pants are a powderbowl from a few years back. Jacket is a new warranty replacement recon hybrid soft/hard shell. Will use these 80% of resort days next season.

I also have a touring pant. And the recon jacket should work well for touring.

And about a half dozen technical insulation pieces I mix in.

I do have other jackets that I use exclusively for hiking or just around town though. I have a couple Big Agnes (Steamboat company) down jackets that are perfect for winter every day use but I wouldn't ski in them. One is too warm to ski in but is perfect for those sub zero stretches. Its like walking around in a sleeping bag. I also have a couple super light shells that pack down for hiking. I always have a stash of clothes I leave in the Jeep too.

Seven jackets (incl. shells and insulated). I'm in the market for another shell. Fleeces, oye, a lot. My real problem, however, is vests. I have, conservatively, 25 vests. I'm glad no one has asked about baseball caps . . .

It gets worse with sports logos..

I started getting one every time I visit a new ski hill a couple years ago..

Add the jacket and purple pants and I will be full on clown school! Thinking would be great with just the sweater, gloves, and pants (any of the above colors)..

Thrift store $13 score of the day.. 90s Sypder Jacket in red. I feel faster already hahaha.. New rule I have is two jackets must go to bring in any new one.

So, will be sending back a couple jackets I didn't wear last season to make room for this one..

I'm really glad that this thread was started. I'm starting to feel that my jacket problem (and associated guilt) is also shared by others. I have about eight jackets and bought three this summer. My problem is that I can't pass up a bargain and somehow I feel that my life will be better if I "just had that one". The truth is that 90% of the time I ski by myself, so if I only had one jacket, nobody would know the difference.
