If anyone has connections to purchase one, I would like to get one.

They do look similar. I'm just not a Patagonia fan.

Turns out mine is a Cascade Toboggan, I went on their site and it looks like they no longer offer them. I got mine used so it has some years on it.

Given that Patagonia is one of the higher quality brands, I wonder what it is about Patagonia that makes you not a fan?

I've never really been sold on them. I think you can get as good or better for less expensive. Just me.

I have the Patagonia vest and like it. It has enough pockets that I rarely carry a pack.

I got my Patagonia vest last year for $125 from the NSP site. It was discounted as a return, but I think a new one was $150. My only complaint is that some of the pockets are a bit smaller than I would like, but the only solution may be to get one that is too big for me. I can fit everything I need for general patrolling. I also take a pack up every day with lunch, extra clothes, headlamp, probe and shovel and a few bits of extra gear, and can leave it in our top shack. I like having the weight evenly distributed on my torso, not having to deal with a pack on the chairlifts, plus it provides some warmth, too.

We were issued the Helly Hansen vest and I use it every day. Better than a pack but wish it had a shovel and probe pocket in the back. We typically use a bungee to sling shovel and probe over our back when not required to wear avy backpack. The vest does help on colder days.
