Hi everyone, someone over on another UK based forum mentioned PugSKI so I thought I'd check it out. I am heading over to the US this season Jan to March on a West Coast roadtrip, armed with IKON and EPIC ski passes and a truck camper. We are advanced riders looking to meet locals for general ski banter and a beer but also looking for locals who might be interested in helping establish ski and snowboard training camps which we can sell to the UK ski market.

By chance, do you have a link to the recommendation?

Welcome to PugSki!

You might want to open your own thread to see about meeting up with folks. (Or if you need help with that, let me know.)

During the season, a lot of "local" conversation happens in the various regional and resort threads. They can be good for conditions or recommendations, or finding folks to ski with :

Now the regional training camps one is a much, much tougher thing. What are you really looking to do? Resorts in the US and Canada almost universally have exclusive rights for any teaching or training on their mountain. So you'd have to go through them and pay them to get permission and set up camp. Do you have a format in mind? What would your focus or discriminators be over existing ones? Is there a particular location you have in mind? etc... Maybe this trip is just to begin thinking through all of that?

What do you mean by "West Coast?" Some people think of the Rockies as West Coast, but those of us who live here (I can see salt water from my house) think California, Oregon, Washington, B.C., and Alaska.

Apologies for the belated reply, this all went a bit under and frankly I'm taken a back at the great response here....

unfortunatley I don't it was in a private message on a UK based ski forum ( snowheads ). It's an offshoot of Ski Club GB (bit of history there), good crowd though and very helpful.
