Heading up to Sun Peaks near Kamloops I will be sure to take some photos and its gonna be cold. Any Vancouverites, ppl in the interior/Okanagon or people that have been there have any recommendations or notes to make?

Does drier snow get icy? I'm used to wet snow being on the west coast. I hate ice, Temperatures will probably be -10 celsius to -20.

It can't get icy if it never gets above -10

Big dumps are rare at Sun Peaks. The norm is fairly frequent small falls, 2 to 4 or 6 inches. It's nice if the temp ranges from -10 to -5 Celsius. No freeze/thaw and not too cold.

What level skier are you?

I am like beginner to intermediate. I am fine with greens and have done some blues but I am not comfortable with all blues, some can be scary for me.

You from the area?

About as far away as I can be, Australia.

I spent a bit over a month at SP in 2017 and had a ball.

Most people ski the north side - Sundance and Sunburst lifts. Warm up on Cahilty off the Sunburst lift, then down 5 Mile.

Rambler off the Sundance lift is also a nice long green, from which you can take the connector to the Morrissey lift. Sticks is the easiest run off Morrissey. The Morrissey runs get progressively harder as you work from skiers right to skiers left. So once you're comfortable on Sticks, go to I Dunno, then keep going to the left as you gain confidence.

Back on the other side, Granny Greene's is the easiest blue run and the other blues off Sundance lift are fun too.

Alright so I got an update now. This place is amazing, the snow is nice and soft and these conditions are a treat compared to Vancouvers wet and icy snow. I actually feel like I ski way better in the conditions which gives me thoughts about passes else where than local. But the winter in Vancouver hasn't been great, lots of sun and rising temps melting the snow then freezing. Kamloops you dont have that now. I did all greens for my first time, might do a few blues. 5 mile was a really nice run. Morrissey side was a bit icy in certain parts but not a huge concern.

Here's some photos.
