We've done movies. We've done bands and singers we don't care for. We've done great movie quotes. Time for "GREAT VOICES". Doesn't matter the genre.
Alison Krauss-Unreal purity
Ella-Don't even need the last name
Karen Carpenter-Maybe the best female pop singer ever? Gone waaaay too soon.
Steve Perry-Like Journey or not, you know his voice
Pat Benatar-All that sound from that tiny little person
Brad Delp-Fantastic range and so clear

+ 1 on Alison Krauss. Though last time I saw her she just kind of mailed it in...very sleepy, uninspired set.

Lyle Lovett
Greg Alman
Susan Tedeschi

We saw Alison and Willie together. She was great. Willie, well it was good to see a legend but he really doesn't sing anymore. He kind of talks through the songs. At 86, I guess he gets a pass. We saw him at 84. Still gets a pass.

Dunno how I'd post it a clip of it, but in skiing together this last season, she mentioned she used to sing, and after much persuasion, finally let me hear an unmastered CD. My jaw hit my knees in the car, and I said "That's you?" in a truly awed tone.

Michelle Branch, but only when teamed with Jessica Harp in The Wreckers.
Kathy Fisher
Chris Isaak

+47 for Lyle Lovett!

Todays odd music trivia:

1. Alison Krauss and her brother love to rip through an AC/DC number or two when they start feeling stale during rehearsal.

2. Lyle Lovett, when asked what else if music hadn't worked out, would have loved to be a dirt bike racer.

Thanks for the fun distractions, pugskiers!

Willie's Outlaw Country Fest? That's where we saw her last summer. You are right about Willie's set. Still, I'm glad we got to see him. "Still is still moving to me."
