As many of you know the Tahoe basin has been in drought conditions for 6 or so years. Wildfires have been crazy bad in the summer and we've been on edge about where the next devastating fire will spark.
This year the record snow fall along with rain in between storms has had a huge impact on lake levels, which are close to maxing out.
As @Andy Mink said, (paraphased) people have been used to so much beach line, on Lake Tahoe, they're going to be mad when they show up at the lake this summer and there's no place to lay your towel let along put up an umbrella.

I'm going to try to get to Northstar and take a similar vantage point in a week or so.
