For anybody interested/not familiar with the handful of Vipec versions out there, these are the "black version" which were a huge improvement from the white version getting clicked in, and the first year the Vipec was TUV-certified to ISO/DIN 13992. The Evo makes some slight changes to entry and knocks 50g off the pair - basically the trade-offs between the Evo & black are pretty small, whereas friends with the Vipec whites couldn't remount their setups fast enough.

These are nice clamps for a fair price. Anyone hesitant about tech bindings because of the lack of lateral release at the toe, these are your answer w/o going up yet another weight class to the Shift. They also ski better than most traditional tech bindings because you've got a kiss-gap heel rather than the 4-5mm spacing on more classic designs. And if you're a meadow skipper type person, you need these as you can switch from ski to tour with your pole, and then back again, to overcome flat spots.
