It has been a very dry summer here in Western Canada, and the fire situation is pretty serious. The fires in the interior of British Columbia have displaced a lot of people. The fires closer to Calgary have mostly been fairly deep in the wilderness, away from populated areas.
Skiers might be interested to know that one of the bigger fires is approaching Sunshine Village.

The fire seems to be sticking to the other side of the divide, but if you have plans to ski sunshine in the near future, it might be worth watching the news.
