This is the fourth year we’ve done a road trip on the Mountain Collective. We got real lucky with snow last year but this year wasn’t as bad as you would think. By luck we timed our ski days in most places just after a bit of snow. We flew into SLC and did Alta, Snowbird, drive up to Jackson Hole (and Grand Targhee), drove back to SLC and caught a short flight to Reno before skiing Squaw/Alpine and then driving to Mammoth.
We did other things along the way.

My kids had there first day (lesson) on a snowboard. My daughter confirmed she is a lifetime skier but my 10 year old son did a second day and by the end of that he was doing non groomed black runs under Chair 5 at Mammoth. He says he’ll swap between the two.

I’ll do this in pictures without much detail - just because I’m lazy right now.

The tram. A favourite run at Jackson and Cross Country skiing in Grand Teton NP.

Great times in Mammoth. Not crowded. Good snow. The highlight as far as skiing is concerned.

A drive down the 395 before a night in Hollywood before heading out. (The 395 is more appealing to us than Hollywood lol).
Now back to work. :(

Surprised to see so much of the sign at the top of Mammoth... I thought it would be about buried by now. (At least as buried as they let it get.) Of course, I've only seen it late season, so maybe that's normal this time of year. Here's March a couple of years ago :

I guess it’s not a banner year ad relatively early in still. Plenty for us to ski though.

That sign would be buried just about every year at some point if they didn't move the snow around up there. Last year was a big year for snow and sometimes when I watched the summit webcam the sign would be gone. But they kept uncovering it after storms.
