On Sunday afternoon on our way back from skiing Mammoth, Dookey67 and I wanted to do a recon ski mission. Plan A was to ski near Lundy Lake. When we saw a drastic lack of snow around Lundy we formed a plan B and drove up Virginia Lakes Road to the Green Creek Road turnoff that heads toward Dunderberg Peak. We started up at around 4:45 PM.
Stev bootpacking up...
...and skiing down...
Dookey67 heading down...
...and further down with Mono Lake in the background...
Dookey67 continues down.
Stev follows...
,,,and looks for a way through without bushwacking...
Dookey67 spraying creamed corn snow on a bonus run.
We skied the lower and middle patches seen in the foreground.
Patchskiing season will resume when our current taste of winter becomes spring again.
