Columbia fit is pretty consistent in my experience. While a little different in terms of specs, isn’t the main difference in these 2 that the Bugaboo is insulated and the other is a shell pant? Myself, I prefer the shell pants and then I can add a base layer based on the temp. I find insulated pants too hot most ski days.

I ended up buying a pair of Columbia Ridge 2 Run pants for $43 from Sierra Trading Post, they should arrive next week.

I think these will serve me well and will hang onto the Gerry fleece lined cargo pants for colder days.

Omni-Heat is another version of insulation. It's using mylar-like to keep radiant warmth in the clothes, in this case pants.
This is much better (more versatile) than more traditional insulation.

Agreed, I just picked up another pair of the Ridge to Run pants (and a fleece vest) as the Columbia site has a decent sale going on right now. Great pants that are affordable and they last.
