Crystal Mountain offering free skiing to furloughed employees

I think it’s pretty cool that Crystal is offering free skiing midweek skiing to folks affected by the government shutdown, and looks like Angel Fire is offering a similar deal. It’s too bad they’re not offering on the weekends - I’m sure there are plenty of people in the working but not getting paid crowd that won’t be able to take advantage of the offer.

Very cool. I know it's a hardship for many, but I have to admit I've been secretly wishing I was still a fed given the great skiing in CO this year. I did a bunch of shutdown skiing back in the day, and you always get paid in the end, or at least so far.

I know a lot of folks that would take advantage of this kind of deal if the resorts in driving distance of DC would offer something similar.

Furloughed contractor here. I already have a pass I bought in July, and Crystal is too far from Morrison for a day trip anyway.

The last time the government shut down I could have ended up facing criminal charges. This is a much better effect.
