Interestingly, I saw Van at the Orpheum, apropos of the Allman Brothers cover of Van being at the Orpheum. It was a last minute thing so my (future) ex, a friend of hers and I hopped in the jalopy, drove down to Boston. The seats were sold as obstructed view.
Our seats were in the middle (maybe the front) box. We couldn't see a band member because of the way the stage was set up.

Jeez. That sucked.

It was the same feeling I had when I saw the Who perform Tommy at Radio City Music Hall for the 25th anniversary of Tommy. It was back when you bought 'best available' on the phone. We were Balcony, Row AA. Being a young lad from Cow Hampshire, I figured, we were in row 27. No such luck. AA is a stubby row in the front of the balcony. We were stage right.
At least I got a cool 'SOLD OUT' t-shirt.
This was the show when it was just the Who at the beginning of their tour. The final show was a performance of Tommy with the cast from the movie along with the Who.
