I am slightly familiar with Ryan, but not that particular album. Any good?

Jamie Cullum is an amazing jazz pianist and vocalist- he has done a number of really great pop covers. Here's another one of my favorites, covering Pharell:

Well I like Ryan Adams, not a Taylor Swift fan, so I could do without it, but, as a genre-flipper, it does work as a concept album.

Ok, Snowfan fess up. Is that you singing?

Excellent. Makes me sad that we will never hear Joe Cocker sing that song...

Pulling the thread and unraveling that garment further:

Have a great Friday and a Blessed Week's End!

"Chain of Fools" live by Didi Stewart & The Amplifiers in a small Cambridge bar, circa 1983.
Lead was sung by Catherine David, who was backup on most of their songs.
Unfortunately their only album ("Begin Here") took forever to release, keeping them out of circulation, didn't sound much like them, and had Didi singing lead on Chain.
(She had a good voice, and was the right singer for her originals and their other covers, just not Chain.)

That was the end of the Amplifiers. Didi went on to teach at Berklee (the music college). Catherine was briefly in a couple of country bands, then dropped out of sight.

well, I went and looked, and Chain of Fools isn't even on that album! Huh?

And it is Cath-a-rine, not Cath-e-rine, which helps google. Turns out she played a show a little over a year ago! https://lizardloungeclub.com/event/catharine-david/
Wish I'd known about that when it happened!

Some Canadian-Content on both the original and the cover.

Bruce Cockburn is a Canadian folksinger.
You probably know one of his early songs "Wondering Where the Lions Are"

.
.
.
In the mid 80's he had the song "Lovers In A Dangerous Time"

.
.
.
The Bare Naked Ladies, in there very early days, did a cover of it in 1991, which I really like:

...and one of mine, actually my favorite -

The cover isn't half bad, some demerits because I prefer when the artist makes it their own -

The whole Encomium album was great... a staple through college.... very 90's though based on who all did the Led Zep covers... in addition to Sheryl Crow, it was 4 Non Blondes, Hootie and the Blowfish, Blind Melon, Cracker, STP....a few others

Under Pressure, written by Queen (with Freddie) and David Bowie, performed by both while Freddie lived. Following Freddies death, there was concert honoring him. The below is a rehersal season, with Annie Lennox filling the Freddie role. Bowie singing with cigarette. Check out George Martin singing along on the sideline. Queen members do the music. Check out the classic bass line playin, Most of all, check out Annie Lennox, in my humble opinion, among the best and totally under-appreciated.

And what did David Bowie add...except some out-of-range mumbling?
