"A friend of mine" may be showing signs of spending too much time in the cellar tuning and waxing the same skis over and over while stuck sheltering at home....sometimes just going down there to walk past the skis and pick up each pair, look them up and down...flex them a little.... just to reposition them back in the rack...over and over again several times a day....a dazed, faraway look in his eyes.....at what point will intervention be warranted? It seems there's enough wax laying around to last for weeks. Should his family hide the wax and call a repetitive behavior specialist via teledoc or something?... Seems harmless enough....

Concerned....

I hear it takes at least 10 passes to really get a base fast. Seems perfectly harmless to me, so long as your friend stays away from the expensive race wax.

I'm past it. S.O. went out to xc the last remnants of snow on the ballfield complex this morning. I wasn't interested. Too painful. Ready for bike season.

Nope......done. All sharpened and put away with storage wax. I will occasionaly take a glance at the pair of Stockli Laser AXs I purchased and didn't get a chance to use before the shutdown occurred though.

Still...holding...on. Look at them every day. Dreams of pressuring the tips and feeling the locked, solid edge.

It’s not an addiction.
I can stop ANY time I want.

Everyone needs a hobby. It is a well-established fact that the mental health of people with hobbies is better than those without. That sounds like healthy hobby as long as you don't breathe too many wax vapors and fumes.

I have about 2 dozen pair of skis that need to be done. Feel free to have "friend" come over.
