What if the resort had short lessons to employ instructors that were not tasked at lineup? For instance, you have the usual lessons that you schedule early in morning, or in preceding days. These are basically 'guaranteed' to happen. Then, offer reduced price shorter lessons starting at ~11am for a couple hours to employ the instructors that were not tasked at line up. These lessons are not guaranteed to occur every day and must be bought after 9am. Quantities limited...
Let me first say.... great idea. Love it. I love a sharpers nail, and not a bigger hammer for problem solving.
Based on what I have seen at every hill that I have taught at, or had a relationship with management (and from my time doing data mining for resorts, that list is extensive), ski school managers are in the weeds. No automation / AI / data collection exists.
When you go to line up, each instructor fills out some bullshit form when they have a class. Often, you are filling this out in crappy weather, with handwriting that is marginally legible. Then managers collect one page of this multi-part form. They then spend their morning inputting data. At the end of your session, depending on the hill, you hand in another form. Managers have to then rectify. Repeat for the afternoon.
It is like when I go into a doctors office. I fill out a form, then the admin person inputs that data. Total bullshit. Fucking grow up, join this century, purchase tablets and appropriate software to take care of this menial task.
Then ski school managers can manage, instead of being data Input monkeys. Of course, for most ski school managers it would then expose how piss poor they are at actually running a business. Most have graduated from being instructors, not successfully running businesses with the money of others, or their own money.
