25 F drop and the number of cretins on bikes goes up exponentially.
Observed this morning:
- Side by side across the entire width of the trail - check.
- Bombing hills at 20mph+ on a pedestrian sidewalk -check. *
- Rear wheel overlap without telling me - check. *
- Passing on the inside of a group during a cross-street approach then slamming on the brakes -check. *
- Passing on a 4foot wide path around a blind corner, the other direction is a 25mph+ downhill - check.*
- Riding the wrong way along a 4lane street with marked bike lanes - check.*
- Riding across the red light with T traffic approaching at 30 mph, traffic being mixed bike and auto - check**
- Swerving between crosswalk/pedestrian crossing of an on-ramp and being in the road - check**
- Immediately followed by a 4 lane red light violation, barely missing out on being bumper food - check**
*Aero bars. I am not going to call these people 'triathletes' because that would be an insult to triathlon.
**Full-on roadie kit, 50mm aero wheels.
Give me 99F+ weather please. Yes, I'll be in constant heat danger, but I'll be safer.
