Now that is quite big news - cancelling an event due a full year after the pandemic measures started. Not a big statement of confidence by Burton in Vail, public sporting events and the ski industry in Colorado/general. Big B going into self protecting cocoon mode?

It takes almost a year to plan, prepare and execute this type of event. To quote Burton CEO John Lacy:

“After playing out multiple options for the 2021 event, we realized there is too much at stake due to the potential public health risk and the financial risk for Burton to invest millions in an event that could end up being canceled.”
