old mountain bikes should be put out to pasture
Converted the 1997 Stumpy Comp M2 to a single speed rigid. Still an awesome bike and can do most local trails with the kid just fine.
The same trails that we used to “shred” in our hard tail 20 years ago are still the same trails!

As long as the old geezer hasn’t lost too much fitness, he can still shred that trail in the same 20 year “old” bike!

Oh I did a similar upgrade to a Turner XCE a year ago :roflmao:

These are both classic rippers for their times, and probably remain a ton of fun.

The only flaw with the RTS was that they broke. Quickly and often. Usually at the seat tube/cross tube (?) weld junction.

The XCE was FAR ahead of its time. Sad that Turner has faded into the mist.
