With a little more that 24 hours left to pull data from epicski.com, let me know what threads you want to save. I will prioritize threads focused on skiing but will do whatever you want, within reason. I'm going to be in my office all day today so there is plenty of time to grab the goods. Tomorrow will reportedly be a powder day so I'm making no promises for data

@mdf do you want the what are you drinking right now? thread saved?

Add your desired thread below. I need the exact name of the thread, preferably the URL of the first page of the thread.

Thread list:
1 More Retro Memories: saved
2 Time for the Code of Conduct to be Updated: saved
3 Who's Pass Would You Pull: saved (aka Red vs Gray)

Nah, I'm fine with the drinking thread being ephemeral. I just wanted to document its long-term existence.

A real public service would be to save the quadraceps tendon injury and repair thread. Over the years, not that many of the posters there were skiers, but I think it was one of the primary places for sufferers to find and help each other. It is 374 pages long.

I saw Bob also asked for the Hallux Rigidus thread, too.

One of the quad participants has saved that thread, so Doug doesn't need to.
Well they said save your favourite info so I now have the entire of the quads rupture topic safely on my hdd. Happy to pass it on if there is any way of getting it up on here or elsewhere round the net. Have messaged one of the admins here to see if they are willing/able to host it.

Over the past year and a half I have copied over all my More Retro Memories posts and photos (plus hundreds of more photos by Bill Talbot, Joal, Phil, Royal, myself and others) into the the glossary of
Gear Heritage, Museum, Retro and "All Things..."

Everything is categorized by brand - take a look and feel free to add!! Everywhere I could I cross- referenced items as well.

The bear-in-the-mountain logos didn't make it into the list above. Forgot about them. Here is Uncle Louie selling hot shirts from the back of a truck:

NOPE....not selling...buying. Mr. Vertical (to my right) had them printed and sold them (probably at less than his cost). Chris Geib is the other person in the photo on my left side.

Lots of people are working to save big chunks of epicski content. I was thinking of the little things that will be difficult or impossible to figure out once that site goes away. For example, where were the Gatherings:

This table is based on a post I made in the 2017 Gathering Vote thread::

Past locations:
2017 Whistler Blackcomb (Mar 5-11)
2016: Aspen (Feb 3-9) Ajax/Highlands/Snowmass
2015: Jackson Hole (Feb 26-Mar6) Jackson Hole/Grand Targhee
2014: Split: Utah (Feb 2-7), Mammoth/Squaw/AlpineMeadows (Mar 24-28)
2013: Montanna (March 25-29, Bridger/Big Sky/Moonlight)
2012: Tahoe (Feb 26-Mar 3) AlpineMeadows/MtRose/Northstar/Squaw/Heavenly/Kirkwood
2011: Colorado (April 3-9, Vail/Breck/A-Basin)
2010: Utah LCC(Jan 31-Feb 4, Solitude/Snowbird/Alta)
2009: Jackson Hole (Feb 7-11) Jackson Hole/Grand Targhee
2008: Utah LCC+ (Feb 1-4) Alta/Solitude/Snowbird/Snowbasin
2007: Tahoe (Mar 24-26) Squaw/AlpineMeadows/Kirkwood
2006: Utah Park City (Feb 4-7) Park City/Canyons/Deer Valley (? - record not clear)
2005: Kicking Horse (Mar 3-6) very poorly attended
2004: Jackson Hole (Jan 30-Feb 2) Jackson Hole/Grand Targhee
2003: Utah LCC (Jan 30-Feb 3) Alta/Snowbird
2002: Fernie (I think)
2001: Tahoe (I think)

There are only two immutable rules for voting for the next Gathering.
1) you must be present to vote. No absentee ballots, no proxies.
2) The 3 year rule: We cannot repeat the current or prior year's resort.
It was before my time, but I think the 3 year rule was put in place to break the pattern of Utah every other year.
3) and one close but not-quite immutable rule: if you nominate, you are volunteering to be Gathermeister

Number of days = 7, 7, 9, 6, 5, 7, 7, 5, 5, 4, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5

Nice! Now, in the more general topic of information loss, wouldn't the web archive help when epic shuts down?

https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.epicski.com

Cheers!
