Well, combined I prefer round. I've tried the ones that are flat on the bottom and they kinda suck.you mean the wheels...?

When I did some road riding in Moab the thorns were a source of flat tires.
There are a lot of great tire options to choose from, so the best one for your customer will depend on their riding style, the type of terrain they will be riding on, and their personal preferences.
