Fave movie track that stands on its own feet under any criteria:

HOT DOG - the movie
Raiders of the Lost Ark

I can't find a sound track from Hot Dog.. I wish I could. Can't even find studio versions of Mitch Ryders "When You were mine", only live.
If you have. PLEASE point me in that direction. Been looking for years.

Lukey's boat
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly- Ennio Morricone

To these ears TGTBTU was an exploration of mania. Both Fistful and Few strike me as being more rounded, especially with the lyrical theme, the nostalgic theme and the bitterness theme that are developed from the watch tinkle.

And of course, if you like Fistful, you have to listen to Yojimbo.

Anyone else a huge fan of the soundtrack to Hero?

THE BLIZZARD OF AAHHH'S!
The most expensive CD I ever purchased was Act's "Laughter, Tears, and Rage"... Totally worth it.

Neither fire, earthquakes, or explosions... Neither riots, war or famine... Absolutely Immune!

Champagne dreams and caviar wishes, watch them go from rags to riches, money to burn, money to give away...

Just watched it again a few months ago...original concept. Loves it.

I can't remember where I first saw that, right when it first came out. Franke Potente went on to the Bourne Identity...

Would it be cheating to plug The Song Remains the Same and The Wall?

While movie in lengths, to me, they are really long music videos. I did enjoy both of them for sure.

I must be the only old fart here.

The Graduate. Anyone heard of Paul and Art?

Midnight Cowboy - Harry Nilsson singing "Everybody's Taklin' at Me" still touches my soul.

I was in grad school and had a friend whose mother ran a video store (remember those?). She would, ummm, pirate every good independent film in the store when she visited her mom and then generously loan them out to the other starving grad students. I saw a LOT of good film in those days.

It was one of those itty bitty little independent foreign films. Sometimes good. Sometimes great. Usually unnoticed. For whatever reason, it caught fire (relatively) and became a cult classic. Its one I rewatch every five years or so. The sense of desperation, fear and urgency it gets across is just so real that you feel it like you're living it every time. I think the soundtrack, editing, and Franka are solely responsible for that brilliance.

I think if I had to pick one, only one SINGLE LP, not double to listen to on a deserted island I'd go with Heavy Metal. It has a pretty good variety of genres..

2. "Heartbeat" Riggs 4:20
3. "Working in the Coal Mine" Devo 2:48

Ha! I've got that on CD as well! Particular favorites are the title track, Reach Out, and True Companion...
