I didn't get out much, but both days were pretty spectacular, bluebird with no wind above treeline.

First was outside Leadville in late December

Great views of the Sawatch.

Maybe this should go in the tip thread: don't hang onto a dead branch for support

Second day was outside Silverton in early March.

Other side of that ridge is Red Mountain Pass; the tallest peak in the middle of photo is McMillan (I think).

The ski down was quite fine.

I'm more of a Springtime ski tourer because avalanches scare me  but this season saw many periods of stability which allowed for some great outings.

Ben heading into Birch Creek Canyon in the shady part of photo on January 17th. Great long powder run but was a long 3 hour skin back out which I wasn't quite in shape for yet.

Another decent freeze last night got me back on Tallac this morning.

I luv the sound of the corn crystals sweeping down the slope, like shards of glass.

Not counting on anymore freezing nights for awhile but was surprised to see a few spots drop below the freezing mark this morning. Got out from 7 till 11:30...

While those in The Rockies are skiing mid winter powder conditions, it was 64F when I got back to the car.

@Stev here's a thread to post some of your patch skiing stoke! Although the patches are gonna be pretty huge for awhile still.

Back on Tallac Sunday but this time all the way to the summit with friends Maddie & AJ.

The Crystal range & Desolation Valley still looks like mid winter

We got shut out of the main couloir due to wet soughing snow

but got to ski an almost as exciting line I've been eyeing for years

Last Friday morning produced a good freeze, so I got an early start out to Carson Pass for a big tour on Elephants Back, the east flank of Roundtop & back to Elephants Back.

Middle of 2nd run. Can you see the skier?

Met Elvis & his human who shot the video on the way down. Too bad I left my boots in walk mode...

Getting ready to go on the next to final pitch. The entry had melted out so we had to do a scree scramble to get into it

Lookers left on Elephants Back, well worth the precarious rock scramble

Cool pics and video! Was that a goat or a dog?

LOL, that's funny cuz I thought the same thing when I saw them coming up the hill. I think the doggles give him that goat look.

Even though I'm not able to ski, I can at least get out, hike & take pics/videos of the Colorado crew. Today it was @FairToMiddlin getting in his June turns at St. Mary's.

In case anyone was wondering, it is much easier to ski down St Mary's at this time of year than to snowshoe.

New season? Sure seems like it.
I went out to Carson pass Saturday afternoon just to poke around, but didn’t do any real skiing. This morning I teamed up with my neighbor for a return & some turns.

We ended up skiing 4 separate lines all with good wind buffed conditions

Very low tide in CO -- but needed to stretch the legs. Wonderful wind slabs and breakable crusts for breakfast.

(Note -- not my DPSs. Mine are the $30 Moments with massive core shots I've filled up with Marine epoxy/Ptex and sandpapered :) ).
